The Faculty History Project documents faculty members who have been associated with the University of Michigan since 1837. Key in this effort is to celebrate the intellectual life of the University. This Faculty History Website is intended as a component of the effort to document the extraordinary academic achievements of Michigan’s faculty in building and sustaining one of the world’s great universities. It provides access to a comprehensive database of information concerning the thousands of faculty members who have served the University of Michigan.

Law School's Law Quadrangle Notes
Terrance Sandalow holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Chicago. Following graduation, he served as law clerk to Judge Sterry R. Waterman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Justice Potter Stewart of the Supreme Court of the United States. He then practiced law in Chicago.
While on the law faculty of the University of Minnesota, he served as a member of the Minneapolis Commission on Human Relations and as a consultant to the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area Planning Commission. More recently, he was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
He has written extensively about higher education and in the fields of constitutional law, federal jurisdiction, and municipal government. He joined the Michigan law faculty in 1966 and served as dean of the Law School from 1978 to 1987.
He is the Edson R. Sunderland Professor Emeritus of Law
