Marcus L. Ward, who comes to this University this year as Professor of Dental Physics and Chemistry, was born at Howell, Mich., August 5, 1875.
After receiving his early education in the Fenton Normal School, he taught for five years in the public schools. He entered at the Universiy at the age of twenty-four, from which re ceived the degree of DD.S. in 1902, and DD.Sc. in 1905.
Since leaving college he has been lecturer in the Dent al Department of the University, and has practiced dentistry in Detroit and Ann Arbor.
He has written a large number of technical papers, read be fore the various dental societies and published in dental journals. He is a member of the National Dental So ciety, Chicago Odontographic Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, and several other similar organizations.
