WHEREAS, On November 4, 1938, John Henry Ehlers, Associate Professor of Botany, attained the age of seventy years, after serving for twenty-three years as a valued member of the faculty of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; therefore be it
Resolved, That The Regents of the University of Michigan hereby express to Dr. Ehlers their deep appreciation of his accomplishments as teacher and scholar, and confer upon him the title Associate Professor Emeritus of Botany, and further
That Professor Ehlers be recommended to receive the usual retiring allowance, beginning February 12, 1939
