Joan E. Austermiller, ’56n, of 2645 Buchanan St., San Francisco, is among 35 U.S. nurses chosen to serve aboard the S.S. Hope on its voyage to Peru. The 18,000-ton white hospital ship was scheduled to anchor at Salaverry, Peru, about April 1, and its physical facilities and staff will provide a logistic base for teaching and training operations and establishment of a Hospital Administration school, a nursing school and other inland programs.
