Bio
Dr. Jeffrey Tingen received his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina in 2009. Upon completion of pharmacy school, he completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency focused in ambulatory care and academia with Wilson Community Health Center and Campbell University School of Pharmacy in 2010. He also completed a PGY2 specialty pharmacy residency in ambulatory care with Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina in 2011. Dr. Tingen is recognized by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and also a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP). Additionally, he is also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). Dr. Tingen’s practice interests include diabetes management, population health, and providing clinical pharmacy services to underserved populations. Dr. Tingen is currently an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist with University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia where he works in a large academic family medicine clinic and performs chronic disease state management. He also works with a large refugee patient population who receive care at his practice site and teaches within the Department of Family Medicine. Prior to joining University of Virginia Health System, he was a clinical assistant professor and ambulatory care clinical pharmacist with University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
