"Identification of Trees and Com mercial Woods," "Dendrology," and "Wood Tech nology" are to be Professor Baxter's subjects.
Dow Vawter Baxter was granted a Doctor's Degree in Botany by the University of Michigan in 1924 and after that was instructor in Botany at the Univer sity of Wisconsin for two years. During the summers of 1924 and 1925 he was engaged in research work with the Bureau of Plant Industries.
Return ing to the University of Michigan he received his Doctor's degree in Forestry in 1921. In prepara tion for his teaching in the Forestry Department he has made an extensive trip through the west and has gathered specimens of every timber tree from the Great Plains west.
