Beatrice Elizabeth Fisk, B.S., M.A., R.N., Assistant Professor of Nursing (Nursing Arts)

Nurse at Red Wing Hospital, Red Wing, Minnesota, her hometown; Assistant Instructor, Swedish Covenant Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago; Instructor in Nursing Arts, Hurley Hospital School of Nursing, Flint; Instructor in Nursing (Nursing Arts), University of Michigan School of Nursing, 1941-1944; Assistant Professor of Nursing (Nursing Arts), 1944-1950. Fisk resigned from this position on October 23, 1950.
Subsequently Fisk was a counselor (1955) and director (1959) for the Professional Counseling and Placement Service (PC&PS), Illinois State Nurses’ Association; Research Associate, Department of Surgery, Northwestern University; Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of General Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago; and Associate Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago, 1975.
The Beatrice Fisk Papers (1904-1949, 1997) are housed at the University Archives, University of Illinois at Chicago. The collection comprises documents pertaining to the history of the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Nursing, Cook County School of Nursing, and the Illinois Training School for Nurses.
