Mr. Augustus Trowbridge, a new instructor in the department of physics, comes to the University of Michigan from Berlin. His education was obtained in the school of mines, Columbia University, New York, where he spent three years; and at Berlin University from which he received the degree of Ph. D. in 1897.
Mr. Trowbridge while in Germany published several theses on topics relating to physics. He also filled the position of instructor of physics in the Technical High School, Berlin. He will give the work heretofore given by Prof essor Patterson, and will assist Professor Carhart in the classroom and in the laboratory.
